Illuminate round 2 - £30,000 investment in new projects
Following a call for expressions of interest to promote the value of social enterprise amongst public sector audiences, SEWM has approved a further £30,000 investment in five projects targeting local authorities, primary care trusts, local education authorities, the LSC and Job Centre Plus.
A series of focused events, round table discussions, conferences and exhibitions are being developed in conjunction with project leads, building upon the work of 15 projects approved under round 1 of Illuminate earlier this year.
Successful R2 projects are being led by:
• Community Arts Workshop: 'Open Up'
• Rubus Services (on behalf of Partners for Social Enterprise): 'A new dialogue on public sector procurement and third sector supply'
• Robert Owen Society: 'Alternative Pathways for Success'
• Initiative for Social Entrepreneurs: 'Tackling Worklessness through Social Enterprise in the West Midlands'
• Birmingham & Solihull Social Economy Consortium: project development ongoing with Birmingham City Council.
Further details on these projects are available from Sandra Crowder, SEWM.
Illuminate Social Enterprise is funded by Advantage West Midlands, the regional development agency.
