Trading Know-how is two year project that aims to gather and share good practice from the West Midlands in relation to the promotion and development of social enterprise.
Launched in April 2009, the project is funded by Capacitybuilders and delivered by SEWM.
The project includes a number of strands, providing many opportunities for social enterprises and other network members to participate and benefit:
Structured study visits. We're looking for social enterprises to participate in a case study visit programme that will be advertised widely and open to other regions.
Thematic good practice forums to unpack where and how good practice is at work in the social enterprise sector particularly within regional support programmes and initiatives.
Flagship Social Enterprises. This is a national PR campaign that will help five of the region's best social enterprises become nationally recognised examples. Following an open and competitive application process, the selected enterprises are Fordhall Community Land Initiative, Gateway Family Services, Halo Leisure, Marches Energy Agency, and PM Training. They will work with leading PR agency Blue Rocket over a two year period. More information
Picture Library. We're offering free professional photography to social enterprises. The images will be used to build an online picture library that can be used by SEWM members to improve the quality of their marketing materials and promotional activities.
Social Enterprise Summer School (29-30 Sept) - designed for social enterprises that have been trading for a minimum of two years. The two day residential programme will bring together business leaders and senior managers of around 20 social enterprises, supporting their plans for future growth. More information and booking details
The two year project will culminate in the delivery of a Social Enterprise Good Social Enterprise Practice/Trade Fair event.
