‘Meet the Buyer’ Open Day – a success for Midland Heart and SEWM!

Midland Heart and SEWM CIC have been working together to engage providers of Environmental Services through co-hosting a ‘Meet the Buyer’ open day at BVSC in central Birmingham.

The event on Friday 20 January 2012 saw over 60 commercial organisations and social enterprises come together to understand more about the contract, due to commence in February 2012.

Midland Heart wanted to attract a good mix of both large and small businesses, including social enterprises,  and are committed to ensuring that all are equally aware of the tender  opportunity and have access to the OJEU process.

Upkar Jheeta (Senior Service Improvement Manager at Midland Heart), who first approached SEWM, said, ‘The ‘Meet the Buyer event’ was a real success, it attracted businesses from a whole range of areas and backgrounds.  We were really grateful to SEWM, who also helped to generate more awareness of the forthcoming tender opportunity.  It is really important for us to attract a wide amount of interest from large and small businesses alike and we felt that working with SEWM would be a fantastic chance to encourage interest from social enterprises too.   Midland Heart are due to open the tender in February and we are would encourage businesses both large and small to take part”.
