R2O (Routes to Opportunity)

R20

R2O is a West Midlands wide programme for Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) third sector organisations managed by b:RAP (formally known as Birmingham Race Action Partnership).

The programme is the first of its kind in the region and will enable BME organisations and individuals to have better access to a range of targeted training, coaching, mentoring, business support, finance and advice.

Delivery of the R2O programme began in June 2007and will run for two years.

The new programme is a direct response to local research highlighting the lack of capacity among BME third sector organisations to respond to and deliver public service contracts.

The R2O programme will work with partners to enable BME third sector organisations to:

  • Take advantage of current and emerging opportunities in public procurement

  • Successfully secure and deliver contracts

  • Increase performance and sustainability

  • Develop and evaluate models to inform future investment
